What they’ll Learn

Your child will learn about the body parts associated with the five senses and explore various sensory stimuli. They’ll also learn how to describe sensations that they associate with different places. The goal of this workshop is to facilitate essential processes during childhood development. For example, sight and speaking games will help improve memory, visualization and speaking skills. Early access to tactile stimuli will aid in the development of balance, posture, proprioception, and fine motor skills.

What they’ll Learn

Your child will learn about the environmental consequences of fast fashion. The goal is to encourage students to explore the ways in which their clothing choices affect the limited resources on our planet. Once your child understands the importance of making sustainable choices, they will encourage fashion companies to source their materials ethically and make better use of our planetary resources during production and distribution.

How this workshop will help:

As students become more knowledgeable about where their clothes come from and where they go after they’re finished using them, they’ll be more mindful of how they purchase and take care of their clothing. Through this process, your child will be able to set concrete and realistic goals for life after high school.

What technology does my child need for the workshops?

All students must have access to a computer, a webcam, and a microphone. In order to create an optimal learning environment, our teachers require every student to have their webcam on at all times. Failure to do so may result in expulsion from the classroom.

What grade level is recommended to start learning with Shiminly?

Shiminly accepts students in grades 1-12. Students can start at any grade level and do not need to have completed the Shiminly program in previous years.

What topics does the Shiminly curriculum cover?

With over 100 unique topics in our 7 competencies, Shiminly students will explore a variety of fascinating disciplines and over 200 different universal skills.

What is the language of instruction? Does Shiminly teach languages?

Shiminly classes are taught entirely in English by international teachers. Shiminly does not currently offer courses in other languages, although we do explore linguistics as a topic in several lessons.

Are your teachers licensed or officially certified in any way?

Yes. All our teachers possess official teaching certifications from accredited educational institutions.

Does Shiminly have a brick-and-mortar school? Where are you located?

We don’t have a physical location because our program was designed to be a virtual course for global citizens. That means we want to be everywhere
